PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW

Isaac became a part of the Rationale team in early 2026 after relocating back to New Zealand from a few years working abroad.

With a background in analysis and advice across a range of different industries, Isaac draws on his sharp technical skills and public sector knowledge to help clients to make well-founded, evidence-based decisions.

In recent years, Isaac has been balancing freelance analysis with travelling abroad and working as a guide. He is excited to be back in New Zealand and getting stuck into some key local infrastructure projects.

PERSONAL OVERVIEW

Away from the office, Isaac spends most of his time exploring – a big reason for the move to Otago.

Most weekends are spent in the tent or at a hut, on the bike or on skis. After taking up bikepacking a few years ago, Isaac and his partner Mia have spent the better part of a year cycling through Iceland, Norway and Central Europe.

Combining their love for people and the outdoors, they recently spent two years in northern Norway guiding tour groups on snowshoeing adventures and northern light excursions.
