PERSONAL OVERVIEW

Born and raised in Otago, Gene and his wife Anna, with their first kid Olivia returned to Dunedin in 2009 after five years working in Wellington. They still call Dunedin home with their second kid Toby and their spoodle “cat/dog” Cassis.

In his spare time, Gene enjoys getting outdoors to go mountain biking, fishing, diving, boating, tramping and spending time with family. As a family, in 2015 they completed a three-month trip around Europe where they experienced a wide range of cultures, physical environments and living conditions. Gene and his wife were keen to pass on to their children an understanding of the similarities and differences between cultures as well as an appreciation of the country they call home.

In more recent times, they have focused on activities within New Zealand that challenge their kids including snow and water skiing, NZ’s great walks, white water rafting, and rock fishing and diving for paua at the family Tautuku crib.

Gene is active in his local community through his involvement with the Kaikorai Primary School Board of Trustees and the St Hilda’s Collegiate School Board of Proprietors.
