Seeing 2024 out in style
Our end of year adventure is a tradition we hold very close to our hearts here at Rationale.
While many organisations have an end of year party, we do things a little differently and every year we organise a top secret three day adventure for the whole team.
Previous adventures have seen us on expeditions in jet boats, white water rafts, on mountain bikes and various other intrepid experiences.
The aim is to get everyone out of the office and to do something pretty unique - it's something the whole team looks forward to all year.
To round out 2024 we had devised a pretty epic a plan, involving kayaks, huts, fishing and diving on Stewart Island, however a brutal weather forecast saw us having to hastily pull together a Plan B.
Not to be defeated, we mad a quick pivot and stitched together a pretty awesome mission, based out of the Glendhu Bay campground on Lake Wānaka.
Day one saw us load up the trucks and hit the road out to Glendhu Bay to set up camp. The team then jumped on mountain bikes for an afternoon on the trails at the Glendhu Bike Park.
The second day started off with a bit of waterskiing and fun on the lake, and a some relaxing at camp. After lunch we split into two teams and went for an adventure up the Matukituki River. One team went for a hike up to the spectacular Rob Roy Glacier, while the other team hiked up the west Matuki with packrafts and then paddled back down.
A lot of laughs were had and it was a great way to celebrate the year that has been with an absolute bunch of legends!
The 2025 adventure is already in the calendar...
