Rationale Ski Day

Rationale’s annual ski day has become a much-anticipated fixture in our calendar, and it’s safe to say everyone was chomping at the bit to get out of the office and up the hill.

This year we had an extra reason to celebrate, with the documents confirming Rationale’s new ownership structure officially signed on the morning of the ski day.

After making the team and their partners patiently wait while Ed, Jimmy, Tom and Chris got everything squared away, we hit the road and headed up to The Remarkables for a bluebird day on the slopes.

Conditions were about as good as we could have asked for, and it was great to have everyone’s better halves up the mountain with us. Fortunately, there were no major spills – although Isaac did manage to cartwheel his way down the Alta Chutes before dusting himself off and skiing away.

Once we got off the mountain and regrouped, we headed out for dinner at a local Arrowtown café, where we were treated to paella cooking and cocktail-making lessons.

The evening also gave us a chance to recognise some significant milestones.

We thanked Ed for his 27 years of leadership at Rationale, with Tom, Chris and Jimmy saying a few words before Ed exercised his right of reply.

Craig was also acknowledged for his ten-year anniversary – a milestone he thought had quietly ticked by unnoticed a few months earlier.

All in all, it was an awesome day with the Rationale crew, made even better by having everyone’s partners along for the ride.

Days like this are a big part of how we work at Rationale. We genuinely believe in getting together outside the office regularly – to blow off some steam, have some fun and spend time with each other away from screens and whiteboards.

Needless to say, expectations are already high for the 2027 edition of the Rationale Ski Day!
