Rationale announces new partnership with Ruapehu District Council

Rationale is delighted to announce a major new professional services partnership in the Ruapehu District.

Ruapehu District Council has awarded its Professional Services Contract for infrastructure services to a consortium made up by Rationale, BTW Company Ltd, and Xyst, after a comprehensive tender and evaluation process. The new contract which comes into effect from 1 July encompasses services for Three Waters, Parks and Reserves, and Solid Waste, in addition to Land Transport services.

Market Director, and Rationale’s client lead in the Ruapehu contract, Chris French, is excited about the new partnership and the road ahead.

“We have put together a very strong partnership alongside BTW and Xyst and are really looking forward to working alongside Ruapehu District Council. We’ve really focused on using our collective skills and experience to build up the capability within RDC and provide innovation in the professional services space – this is a true collaboration and the start of a great journey together.”

As part of the partnership, BTW Company will establish a permanent base in Ruapehu, aiming to integrate closely with the Council’s infrastructure team at the Taumarunui office, with Xyst and Rationale providing ongoing support both on site and remotely.

The new contract will also better support Council’s in-house capabilities, particularly in areas such as network and program management, asset management, and financial controls. The proposal demonstrated the ability to adapt and respond to evolving needs which was a key its success.

Mr French says the contract has been very well received by the team at Rationale. “It’s no secret that our team like to enjoy the great outdoors, and having more reasons to visit the Ruapehu District has caused quite a lot of excitement in the office. There are plenty of ideas being thrown around and a range of adventures we might be able to incorporate into site visits!”

“Securing a long term contract such as this shows the value of smaller, specialist organisations working together and the value we can add – we’re looking forward to getting stuck in.”
