CURRENT VACANCIES

Analyst

Location: Arrowtown

Hours: Fulltime – 40 hours a week (negotiable)

We’re looking for an Analyst to join our Arrowtown team – someone who loves working with data, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants their analysis to make a real-world difference.

What you’ll be doing

As an Analyst at Rationale, you’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary team of to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based advice for our clients. Your role will include:

• Analysing and interpreting complex datasets to support business cases, investment decisions and strategic advice
• Building clear, robust analytical models across areas such as asset management, financial modelling, valuations and growth projections
• Developing compelling visual outputs (dashboards, charts and graphics) that help tell a clear story
• Supporting the delivery of client-ready outputs that are accurate, timely and fit for purpose
• Working across multiple projects at once, managing your workload and meeting timeframes and budgets
• Contributing ideas and asking good questions – we value curiosity, initiative and continuous improvement

Most of your time will be spent on chargeable project work, collaborating with project managers and senior advisors to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients around New Zealand.

What you’ll bring to the role

We’re looking for someone who is confident with data and analysis, communicates clearly, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

Being a team player and bringing a can-do attitude are non-negotiables. You’ll be a key part of a close knit team - we work collaboratively across our pipeline of work, supporting and challenging each other both inside and outside the office.

To be successful, you’ll have:

Essential skills and experience

• Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and Power Query
• Experience with data modelling and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau)
• Demonstrated experience delivering analytical projects or outputs
• High numerical literacy and logical reasoning skills
• Clear written communication and attention to detail
• Evidence of additional learning or skill development (e.g. GIS, new tools, courses or self-directed learning)

Desirable experience

• Infrastructure or asset management
• Financial modelling and forecasting
• Asset valuations
• Population or growth analysis
• Survey development and analysis
• Development of analytical products such as dashboards, apps or workflows
• Basic programming experience (Python, R or VBA)

We’re also keen to see a bit of who you are outside the office as part of your CV – interests, passions or projects that show curiosity and initiative are a plus
